There is plenty of loot to be taken at the shops in Oakvale, Hook Coast, and Barrowstone North.I recently got hold onto a copy of Fable Anniversary from Lion Head studios. It is best to use these two skills in conjunction at night. This works exactly the same as stealing except on doors. This will let you know how many people are watching.Īt level 6 Guile you will learn to pick locks. Before attempting to take an item check out the eyeball icon on the top left of your mini-map. If someone sees the act of robbery, then the attempt is unsuccessful. Once the bar fills up, you will have taken the item. Press down on the d-pad and a bar will appear in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Stealing is easy, walk up to an item you wish to take and a robber icon will appear in your quick use menu. This enables you to sneak (press on the left thumbstick) without being noticed by creatures or guards.Īt level 3 Guile you will learn to steal items. The first thing you need to work on in order to be a successful thief is raising your guile. Thievery Thievery can be very lucrative in the land of Albion. You can also click on the left analogue stick twice for a zoomed view of the target. If you hold L, this will cause your character to strafe while still locked onto the target. The longer you hold X the more powerful your shot will be. This works the same as a melee weapon, lock on with the L trigger and hit X to fire off some shots. Ranged Attacks Hit the black button to take out your ranged weapon. Rolling is most helpful against bosses or large area attacks like ground swell brought upon by rock trolls. While the hero is rolling, he is invulnerable to any attack. Simply hold town block and direct your character with the right analogue stick. Instead, you will need to become used to rolling. Blocking does not guard against all melee attacks and will not help you at all against magic. Block and Roll Pressing the Y button makes your character block. Some of the most useful flourishes are circular attacks that will hit anything surrounding the hero. The type of flourish attack you perform also depends on the location of the enemies around the character. Hint: When you perform a decapitation it is possible to kick the head. Also, performing a flourish attack on a stunned character will often lead to a decapitation. The biggest advantage to connecting with a flourish besides the increased damage is that it will often knock a character over or stun them. This super attack lasts infinitely as long as you never miss when using it or take damage once it has been activated. Your weapon will glow a fiery red when flourish is available. This is a very strong attack that is activated by tapping the B button. Flourish The flourish attack is activated after consecutive melee attacks without your character taking damage. The spell transfers the cost of damage from health to mana and while it is activated your multiplier will never be interrupted. The absorb damage spell is by far the best spell for ensuring a high combat multiplier. Casting the slow time spell makes it much easier to dodge attacks and string together your own assaults. There are a few tricks to getting your multiplier super high, many of which have to do with taking advantage of certain spells. This means that you will want to save potions for a time when your combat multiplier is high. This is also true of potions that boost experience in the three areas. Experience is multiplied by 100 according to your combat multiplier at the time of collection. Teleporting can still be exploited to boost a multiplier, this is discussed further in section regarding the Demon Door outside of Hobbe Cave. Note: Teleporting, walking into a new area or activating a loading screen in any way will diminish your combat multiplier by half. ![]() The multiplier adjusts for the strength of a weapon, so a weak but quick weapon will yield approximately the same results as a powerful but slow one. You can add to the multiplier by hitting an enemy repeatedly without taking damage. The combat multiplier appears in the upper left hand corner of the screen. Combat Multiplier The most important part of combat however is the Combat Multiplier. A character that focuses on melee combat can easily power up three or four spells if they so choose. There is enough opportunity for experience in Fable that if you are willing to put the time in, your hero can master, or at least become fairly skilled in each area. ![]() ![]() Combat can be broken down into three categories: Melee, ranged, and will (magic).
